About Nicole Crowder // Designer editor//Curator


With over ten years in the design industry, Nicole Crowder is an acclaimed designer, editor/writer, and creative director and educator collaborating with brands around the world. She is currently based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

Nicole’s designs and story have been profiled in renowned publications like Architectural Digest, Martha Stewart Living, Elle Decor, Better Homes & Gardens, Business of Home, Domino, Design Milk, The Washington Post, and more.

Taking her years of expertise to audiences across the country, Nicole hosts upholstery workshops and workshop-retreats where she guides anyone interested in the craft of upholstery through techniques to help them learn how to reupholster their home furniture.


Among many spaces, Nicole’s furniture and upholstery work has been featured on acclaimed HBO television series Insecure, and was on exhibit at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in 2025 as part of their Triennial “Making Home”.


She released her first custom furniture collection with World Market in 2022 that was featured in all 200 of their US retail stores and online. She collaborates with brands that span across advertising, hospitality, fashion and television to design and curate modern works and experiences that redefine space making.

In addition to her furniture work, Nicole is a Photo Director and consultant for media organizations for nearly twenty years across the print and digital publications and streaming industries, working for companies that include The Washington Post, Netflix, National Geographic Traveler, and AARP Media. She currently is based in Minnesota, and consults for various agencies and brands nationally. She also operates the bespoke glassware brand GLAS.
