The class is set up as a beginners workshop to upholstery to ensure you’ll be able to strip and reupholster a simple chair, ottoman or bench within the three hour structure. No prior experience is needed.

DATE: Saturday, December 6th, 2025.

TIME: 11am-2pm

LOCATION: Brooklyn

What is included in registration:

-All tools and materials needed to work

-Multiple fabrics to choose from

What you should bring:

-Your own small chair or item to be worked on. Please email Nicole a photo of your item for approval no later than one week prior to the class at crowder.nicole@gmail.com. All chairs MUST be pre-approved ahead of the workshop otherwise they will not be permitted.

Scratches, nicks, dents, etc are OK), or anything that requires cushions to be constructed or sewn. This class will not be demonstrating sewing or using tack strips. Certain types of armchairs are allowed, but a reference photo will be needed. Please email Nicole at crowder.nicole@gmail.com a photo of your chair prior to the class to make sure it is approved.

One chair per person, although you may decide to take the class with another person and work on the same piece together.

Questions:

Can I register with a friend?

Absolutely! These classes are great for attending with a friend or a family member. Each of you will need to purchase a ticket, but you are welcome to partner up and work on the same chair or piece of furniture together.

What if I signed up and I’m no longer able to attend the class?

If you are no longer able to attend the session, you can transfer your ticket to someone else who might be able to attend or if there was availability in the next class, you can move your date to that one if it is more convenient. This option is not guaranteed.

Refunds?

Tickets are nonrefundable but they are transferable if you are no longer able to attend the class. If your chair is not approved a refund is NOT provided. Please ensure your chair is approved either prior to registering OR no less than one week before the class.

What if I have never approached upholstery before? Can I still attend?

Absolutely! These classes are structured for beginners who have never approached upholstery or who may have approached it lightly in the past. No prior experience is needed.

Will I get to keep my chair that I reupholster in the class?

Yes! For any chair that you bring you will be able to take that home with you.

I need a chair. Can you help me source where to find one?

Absolutely. I’m happy to help identify thrift stores, vintage markets, or can assist with online searches as well.
